Prinsengracht
About the place
Room for Rent with Registration at Prinsengracht Price: €1,150/month (including utilities). Rental Term: Long-term (preferably starting in December, with a move-in during the first week if possible). About the Place: I live in a charming, typical Amsterdam house. The house is a bit old, but everything works perfectly. The entrance is small, but I think we can manage to make it a nice communal area. There’s also a small closet for storage there. Your room is the one shown in the pictures, complete with a bed frame. The room has two built-in closets on the right wall and big, beautiful windows/doors that open onto our balcony. The bed frame can stay if you want, but the mattress will be removed, so you’ll need to bring your own. The kitchen is well-equipped (oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, etc.). It also has the washing machine for clothes. There’s no dishwasher, so we wash dishes by hand here. I’m happy to share my kitchen supplies, such as pans, cutlery, glasses, and plates, as long as you also take care of them. 😊 We have a small Dutch bathroom—not much to say about it, haha! About the Location: This is the best part of the house—the amazing location! I live on the Prinsengracht, the last of Amsterdam's famous canals. Everything is nearby: the 9 Streets are around the corner, Leidseplein is a 5-minute walk, and the Jordaan area is just across from us. The house is on the first floor of a 4-floor building: Ground floor: There’s a local café (Café Molenpad), which has live jazz performances on some Sundays. Don’t worry, there’s no noise from the café, and they close at reasonable hours since it’s more of a café than a late-night bar. Second floor: A lovely older couple owns the apartment here, but they only stay a few days a month as it’s their holiday home. Top floor: Barbara, a middle-aged woman who’s super nice and never complains about noise. About Me: Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m 25 years old and work as a bartender at a fancy hotel. I’m originally from Spain but have been living in Amsterdam for the past 3 years. I enjoy fashion, going out for coffee, traveling, going to the gym, and exploring creativity and stoicism. I’d say I’m an easygoing person who enjoys connecting with others but also values some downtime, as my job requires a lot of social energy. I’d love to live with someone who understands and respects that balance. About You: I’m looking for a tidy, easygoing person who can communicate in a mature way. As I’m a woman, I’d prefer to share the apartment with another girl. I’m looking for someone ready to stay long-term. Normally, the landlord requires a minimum one-year contract, so I’d prefer a working professional. Students are welcome if they intend to stay after finishing their studies. If you’re interested, please send me a message with some information about yourself (name, age, work/study situation, hobbies, etc.). Viewings will take place this week and next week. Let’s plan a time that works for both of us! Looking forward to hearing from you, Lucy
